Absolute C1
The abosolute C1 was designed by USA Olympic athlete Benn Fraker, who paddled the boat to a 6th place finish at the Beijing Olympics.
In the fall of 2007, Benn and I started working on this boat after he expressed to me what he didn’t like about his current boat, the Vajda Lizard 07. Benn described exactly what he wanted the boat to do, and I attempted to make it happen. After several weeks of changes, Benn was happy, and when the boat finally came out several months later, the boat was everything and more.
The result is a boat that is 351 cm long and 61cm wide. The reduced width provides much smoother tracking and increases running speed. The boat turns with ease on a flat draw turn, or on a sweep, both made easier with incresed rocker. The hull was dramatically reshaped, and the boat has a nice balance of stability and responsiveness.
